E3 Planning a Digital Event for later this summer
One of the many negative impacts of the Cavid-19 pandemic this year was the cancellation of events. Among the list of events canceled last year was the E3 2020 - an annual conference of the game industry held in Los Angeles. The event is organized by The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and is often the host of many of the most exciting games of the year. Many people missed E3 last year, but fortunately, it seems that the event will grow this year while ESA is planning a digital event for this summer.
In a recent exclusivity with VGC, an ESA representative confirmed that the organization provided for a digital event for the E3 2021. The event should currently take place from June 15 to 17 and will hold "several presentation sessions of two game partners., a prize ceremony, an evening of preview on June 14 and other smaller flows of game publishers, influencers and media partners. »»
According to the proposal sent by ESA to game publishers-which was then seen by VGC-, the event will be supplemented by media previews throughout the previous week and will offer game demos on different plates- game shapes.
Currently, the concept of the event is still in the launch phase and needs the support of ESA members, which includes a large part of the largest companies in the sector.
The ESA representative who spoke with VGC confirmed that some publishers were in favor of the event, but could not say who this understands.
"We have excellent conversations with publishers, developers and businesses from all walks of life, and we can't wait to share details on their involvement soon."
Many remains to be confirmed regarding ESA projects for E3 2021, we will continue to publish updates to the event as more information will be available.
